This issue occurs quite often; the door frame should have been left exposed when tiling. Of course, you can also notch the door frame or fill the gap.

Here is an example of a customized frame. The door is further along the wall than intended by the frame manufacturer, and the tiler unknowingly continued the scrub edge. So: frame trimmed and tile cut. Works for us.

Yes, that would also be my approach. I also find the alternative (cutting tiles on the wall and removing the overhang) impractical...
