Sorry that my comment came across as "irritated." That definitely wasn't my intention; I just think this minority issue should perhaps be handled more sensitively. That was what I meant. I experience every day that things taken for granted by heterosexual people are discussed among us. It would be nice if this weren't necessary. In that sense, yes, I just want to make sure that generalizations aren't made thoughtlessly. Hilfehilfe's response is completely okay. And I will chill now as well.

I think this is where your problem lies: while minorities (whether disability, foreigners, older people, or gays) are already treated as normal and integrated by many (only certain facts have to be questioned if they don't come up on their own), "you" still see yourselves as the minority we should handle sensitively. And that is currently not the case here: it is being questioned, an explanation is given -> fine, the question can be answered more specifically. That's all there is :)

Some minorities are so persistent, they push their alleged problems into public discussion at every opportunity. Now it is even being demanded here that "offspring" for homosexual couples should be just as normal as for man and woman. Seriously?

Otherwise, I agree with HilfeHilfe. If the feeling (now) doesn’t fit, let it go. Maybe you can still build up equity, financially it is certainly possible even now. Downsizing the house will not bring any financial benefit.
