Hello, so far I have only been a reader, now I have a small request.

Short and sweet, "Do I even need windows that I can open if I have a VRF system?"
I am seriously considering ordering all windows without the option to open them.

Aside from the patio door and conservatory door, of course.

That would significantly reduce the cost of the windows but somehow I have a bad feeling about it.
Therefore the question, is being able to open windows a must?

I can only imagine the scenario of "cleaning," which would then be cumbersome. However, so far we have completely outsourced window cleaning (others can do it better and faster) and will continue to do so. Then just with a ladder.

Nonsense or really something to consider?

Thank you

From painful experience, there must be a second escape route on every floor with a clear opening of 0.9 x 1.2 m. So at least one window/door per floor is mandatory (accessibility for the fire department, e.g. street side).

What do you save compared to open windows, and to what extent do you restrict your quality of life? So, in summer I do want to be able to open the windows, the ventilation can be turned off during the day.

Do you have children or dogs? They like to fart sometimes and you are very glad to quickly get some fresh air in. The ventilation system does not get rid of it that quickly.

I would still have a few arguments... but with a user who doesn't give any answers, there is no second helping either

I will get a new offer next week, then with a higher/lower price compared to the closed window. But in the conversation with our window builder, it sounded like this range is large!
I am really curious

Ha! No dogs in the house. Hopefully children in due time.
But interesting thought.

We also asked around among acquaintances with a ventilation system. Everyone had to think hard and only one said that the bedroom windows are often opened in the morning despite the ventilation system. Since our bedroom faces the street, we would then take that as "normal" to open. And to tolerate the farting, also the children’s room windows. Then we would have 4 windows to open.

Sorry, but especially on weekends, we home builders are only on the construction site.
I hope you still have the follow-up in mind ?

Greetings and have a nice Sunday
