Would you like fences around your house/property and if so, why?

Here some people let their dogs run free. It’s fun when you haven’t seen the landmines before mowing the lawn. Also, I like my grill, the patio furniture, and the decorations. I would like to keep these things and unfortunately, that is not a given. All kinds of things are stolen from gardens here. Therefore, a fence or a fence with a really tall hedge and a locked gate.

Our new dog loves everything and everyone.....therefore we will have to fence in the 850sqm one way or another.

No fence, only colorful hedge! We feel very comfortable with it!

These are very good arguments. We will just try it without fences/hedges in front and back. As for dogs, I would rely on the respective owners not to allow such things or to pick up and take away any mess. Whether things get stolen in the new neighborhood, we will test; for now, we only have our old garden furniture. Oh, how silly, now that I’m writing to you, I realize that it doesn’t really help if our old garden furniture isn’t stolen... new garden furniture might nevertheless be gone overnight. ;-) Maybe we’ll just stick small GPS trackers on our “belongings” outside.

We have just over 3000sqm. The front and back are still open at the moment since we are only at the beginning of the construction phase. At the front, there is a federal road and at the back a small side street and the field. My girlfriend wants a fence because of our youngest daughter who is 3 years old, as she is worried about the cars. Since we are planning to have a dog, a fence is necessary. It is definitely an advantage if you can just let the dog run on the property. The disadvantage, of course, is the cost, 50m at the back and about 30m at the front. Fortunately, most of the 4 neighbors already have a fence.
