Of course you can do that, but the effort is probably not really proportionate. It cannot be compared to thermal insulation, as that potentially also touches on building authority issues or could cause long-term building damage. The wrong color is really purely aesthetic and it’s not even a particularly special color. Gray is the standard that is always used (in the past there was only gray). It remains a defect that requires compensation. So the craftsman must fix it. Edding, I don’t know, but there actually is joint color. That would be an option. Or a monetary compensation. He should just make a proposal.

Yes, difficult,

Therefore my first advice is a specialist lawyer.

Replacement first name is of course the last step. If one really cannot live with gray.

Thanks first of all for your answers, I’m afraid you are right. A complete replacement of the floor is probably really disproportionate. Because it indeed does not look “forbidden.” Unfortunately, it does not meet my own standard or expectation of how the floor should look. The boss was on the construction site himself today, apologized but did not offer any other solution for now. The payment for the additional costs for the tiles to the developer is now due, we informed them today. There are almost €5000 in additional costs that we have to pay, the total installation costs are almost €9000.

Hi,

first talk to a lawyer, but if he is not making any proposal, mine would be:

The additional costs will not be paid. He did not deliver what was ordered and is not willing to change it. So what exactly does he want to invoice for?

Best regards,

Andreas

That was also my initial idea. Let's see how the developer responds to the issue; so far, they have been very accommodating when it comes to rectifying defects.

Then the tiler is definitely the wrong contact person when it comes to complaints.
