It is very likely not shatterproof, and as I said, to fall through the window you would have to be very clumsy, in my view impossible, and you wouldn’t even fall one meter deep outside, meaning every slip in the bathroom is just as dangerous and much more likely.

For example, there is a supreme court ruling that landlords are liable for violation of traffic safety duties if the stairwell windows are not equipped with safety glass.

In the private sector – i.e., new construction of single-family houses/semi-detached houses, etc. – it is (still) not taken quite as strictly. Nevertheless, the safety aspect must not be neglected even in private home construction. I do not know the relevant DIN standard offhand, but structural stability must always be ensured; also with the aforementioned stairwell window. So I would tend to assume that it was indeed installed to be shatterproof. You cannot see that with the naked eye.

Rhenish regards

I have to ask a question. Maybe someone knows about this. The company I chose builds (as far as I can judge) good houses. The planning office, in my opinion, is a disaster. We also planned a window next to the front door. It is supposed to be 300 x 76 cm in size. That’s not possible, right? Take a look at the plans. When I asked whether the pane could be replaced in case of damage, I was told: "After consultation with Mr. Ka...., he pointed out to you that, among other things, cleaning the pane is only possible to a limited extent."

Yes, it is possible. You yourself write that you planned it. Why should the window replacement not be possible?

Because, if I'm not mistaken, the ceiling is in between. The ground floor is 2.60 m high and we have not planned a gallery upstairs
