Hello dear people,
our bungalow is 95% planned. Now I wanted to ask you what you think about the window shapes and sizes? (East view).
I wish for a modern look but am a bit unsure.
My architect says he would advise me to choose tall instead of wide windows, that looks nicer.

Behind the small windows is the small WC hidden.

Oh yes: absolute symmetry is very important to us.
At the top in the gable we do not want windows because we like masonry gables.

The terrace doors are 201 x 235 cm high. That is the maximum height in color. The manufacturer does not guarantee higher.

The front windows now have a height of 1.55 m.

Oh yes, our bedroom is on the south side.

Actually we like everything well, only at the front (east) we are uncertain.

Then go ahead and explain how you would have wanted it without this statement.

That I find it unfortunate to interpret simplicity as an aesthetic category, I think I have already mentioned before.

Is shading on the terrace in summer not an issue for you?
You could have both roofs extended on your east/west side.
Then you would have a terrace roof on the left and right. The garden furniture could be left in place...
Just as an idea?

On the south side, people rarely sit in summer... At least we prefer to sit on the east side.
Later, every sun protection looks "retrofitted" (various sunshades, sun sails, roofing, ....) Then the appearance is gone...

Thanks for the hint, No, it’s not an issue. In addition, we have already used the maximum covered area.

East view boring,

at the gables, fully aware that it is built open, the gable windows are missing... the reason why it is built open. Up there, it is dark in the rooms, and the ambiance "open, flair and Danish" thus falls away into the "common gable roof house"... but for the latter, the narrower terrace doors and windows intended by the contractor/architect fit very well.

You understand that such a bungalow is most likely intended as an age-appropriate, single-story house? That means probably only an attic or an open visible roof truss above. In such a case, it is difficult to accommodate all wishes, especially since the plot size and boundaries are a problem.
