These grille fields are, to put it mildly, a matter of taste anyway. Just the color matching the room air spray makes me shiver.

And also 500 times more impractical.

It is well known that there is no accounting for taste :D

What is your opinion on the parallel sliding door regarding the notice?

My aunt had it as a window in the conservatory, without complaints. Due to its construction, it's a tricky thing, we didn't have it in our program at all (and otherwise we usually enjoyed producing stuff that was prone to complications).

You also have this issue with the more expensive lift-and-slide doors. It's almost flush with the floor and has one sealing layer less than a window. If the rain is hitting it... definitely a gutter in front is needed and whether you should lay parquet directly behind it... well, it’s a disclaimer, not a water intrusion guarantee.

How did the topic turn out for you? What did you decide on?

I have been racking my brains since Friday about how to design our patio door. The 2.60m is too wide for 2 panels. 3 panels with a mullion don't work and I generally don't like them.

A lift-and-slide door would be significantly more expensive but, in my opinion, would fit well. My wife is worried that she won't be able to clean the roller shutter on the fixed side from the inside.

More qualified advice can often be given if the questioners link the thread with their house design.

I don’t get it.

Yes, but too small for three. That is an awkward dimension. Two sashes is possible, but not comfortable to open. I would definitely recommend a third hinge per side, i.e. then only turn instead of tilt-turn.

That also works, but then it would again be borderline small – just unusual, technically ok.

Such details reveal an architect who lacks practical experience.
