Do you think I can stand questions about houses completely unknown to the forum community like sour beer?
Here, for example, it even concerns a house without a door:
But of course I can also say here: You can make lift-and-slide doors out of plastic, as long as we are talking about total widths of 250 to 350; wider, better take aluminum and narrower, better let lift-and-slide stay.
Evil keyword – purchase and installation from two different parties is not a happy combination.
So, now I have, so to speak, answered anyway at the invitation of a moderator. Actually, the question smells too much like wanting the whole package fifty bucks cheaper, to which I do not want to contribute.
Thank you very much for your feedback, even if, like so many of your posts, it is hardly to be surpassed in cynicism. Although I have only been in the forum for a short time, this immediately stood out to me when reading the posts about the window topics.
Believe it or not, our house will also get a door. But since my wife has very special ideas, our friend who is a carpenter is building it himself.
So now to the topic of saving... What exactly is so wrong about wanting to save money when buying windows without sacrificing quality? I work in the construction industry (focused on technical building equipment) and know quite well how calculations are made. And if I can save the way via an intermediary, who does nothing but add his margin on top, then that has nothing to do with "fifty bucks cheaper." And that is why my question also aimed at whether anyone had good experiences with dealers. And honestly, I do not understand why one should immediately describe the entire house project when asking such a question...
I am aware that a warranty conflict can arise here. But I consider the risk manageable when working with a good installer.
Thanks again for the hint about the maximum width of plastic lift-and-slide doors and regards
MS
