Window color RaL 9005 and garage

We initially also wanted black because we don’t like the typical RAL 7016 that much. We ended up with DB703 - anthracite with a brownish tint instead of a bluish one. Somehow, it gives a cozier impression to me and matches the parquet inside very well, in my opinion. It is also quite common, meaning matching door and garage door are no problem. The only "problem" is that the color shade is not as standardized as RAL and can show slight differences depending on the manufacturer. But we received a sample from the window manufacturer and will use it to choose the door.

I also like DB703, but it is just a gray, if you get it into the concept, it will certainly fit very well.

Yes, I still know the problems with DB703 from my old company, every powder manufacturer (for powder coating) really looks completely different there, if you lay the sample pieces next to each other, you can hardly believe that all of that is supposed to be DB703. Unfortunately, we also had problems here with other parts from the same powder manufacturer right next to each other. Slatted blind cover to slatted blind cover sometimes shimmered differently in sunlight. Sounds trivial, but when you actually saw it live on the house wall, you could very quickly understand the complaint...

But I don't think there is a problem with components that are further apart. Front door, garage and windows are usually not close together...

Black does not stay black for long. High-gloss surfaces last a bit longer, but ultimately all surfaces weather, leading to a stray light effect that causes deep black to appear gray. The manufacturer's warranty provides a good guideline for how long something lasts. In areas exposed to strong sun, wind, and rain, I would expect a maximum of 10 years. Maximum.

And is there any solution for that? Is it due to this monochromatic nature? Is it different with colors like [DB703], which have a kind of metallic shimmer?

Man, man, man... I wouldn't want windows with uneven fading in 10 years :(.

The seemingly simplest solution would be to go straight to gray. Or white ([heutiges Weiß wird nicht mehr irgendwann gelb]).

I believe you also have these problems with a solid gray, don’t you? RAL 7016 is a gray and when I see some of the cladding on not too old houses, it literally horrifies me. This uneven, cloudy (I don’t even know how to describe it) fading looks terrible in my eyes. And I have a bit of a fear that this is basically a problem with such solid coatings (except maybe with white), but unfortunately I don’t know...
