My wife and I are still discussing the roller shutter color. The plan is to have the windows anthracite on the outside and white on the inside. For the roller shutter color, my wife wants gray or silver. I would have stuck with anthracite.

My wife argues that the rooms will be brighter inside and the dirt on the roller shutter is not as quickly visible with gray or silver.

What do you think? Would you also tend towards gray or silver? The house color is otherwise white and the roof is also anthracite.

We are getting exactly the same color combination. Roof dark gray, facade white, windows anthracite on the outside, white on the inside, shutters are gray. I find it relaxed and timeless, but some might find it boring. Surely more stylish are shutters matching the color in anthracite. No idea if that costs more? In my life, I have so rarely cleaned shutters, except for removing cobwebs inside, that I have never really thought about dirt and color in this regard. But I am also surely the worst housewife of all...

Rooms brighter? No, I can't confirm that. Dirt is a thing. First, roller shutters hardly get dirty. And second, it's either dust, which on dark ones you can of course see very well, or e.g. squashed insects on the inside, which you can see especially well on light ones. By the way, I can hardly remember when I last cleaned roller shutters. In the last 30 years maybe 5 times. Everything that is anthracite heats up really nicely in summer, by the way. Also the roller shutters, if you use them as sun protection. They can expand and crack quite a bit - especially aluminum ones. Just like window frames in anthracite. There are various threads about this here and in other forums.

Well, 7016 is the new standard. At night all cats are gray, why should shutters be mint green or saffron yellow, it’s not worth the extra cost. Keep in mind that shutters are sometimes also used for shading, with anthracite, PVC is out of the question. Since the hail in May ’22, I have aluminum ("natural", i.e. silver) in the living area and otherwise light gray PVC, so I know the difference from experience and would have chosen natural aluminum all around for the property because of the less dirt accumulation and easier cleaning.
