Why is shading particularly important in newly built houses?

When I look at my parents' "Altbau"...

Different construction method... On the south side, shading is provided by the terrace coverings. On the west side, shading is provided by the balcony and roof, shading by trees in the garden. And: significantly larger building (surface/volume ratio)

A bare new building with large window areas on the south side, by contrast, looks like it's on a silver platter.

Experience from my old apartment (building from the 70s): it gets stupidly hot, no matter what you do. If you barricade the windows, heat comes in through the roof and masonry. If everything is well shaded in the new building, the heat can penetrate much less. That’s why it’s more important in the new building, because it makes a particularly big difference.

Objection, a KS wall with additional insulation indeed has a high storage capacity as well as a high absorption capacity. One reason why only KS was an option for us. Other reasons such as strength, sound insulation, etc. only reinforced this opinion.

But back to the topic, every ballpoint pen lying in the room warms up and can store a small amount of energy. That is why it is simply impossible to make a physically 100% correct consideration.

Exactly, if it's well shaded!

Yes, exactly - that's why practical experience is simply the best here, because no matter how you analyze it: it will not be cooler in the new building

Yes, very much so under the roof if it's shaded. Go up to the attic of a house with an uninsulated roof
