I believe that. But we have all switches connected throughout the entire house, including the switches for the electric blinds. Situations inevitably arise where voice input is possible but not the best solution. Then visitors, cleaning lady. Then actually the unexpected case of a two-day outage at Apple, which temporarily made voice input unusable. Also, I don't like speaking at night when I have to go to the bathroom; I don't want to wake anyone up. In summary, I am not a fan of "pure" voice control - it lacks comprehensive comfort gain. On the other hand, I really like our system with possibilities.

This works with any switch. Only afterwards, turning on by voice will no longer work.

With push buttons it does. They only send the OFF signal briefly via radio but keep the physical circuit closed permanently.

Yes, it was just presented at CES and is expected to come on the market in the next few months.

Well, I mean the new Shelly modules, 4th generation - if you have to remove all external links anyway. Annoying procedure here...

The Shellys should definitely be able to do that. You should take a look. Otherwise, we solved it so that the hallways are not smart. There is always a switch nearby, and smart lamps are just annoying there. For the night, we have a small night light with brightness detection in the sockets. Alternatively, you could use smart lamps and motion sensors. In bathrooms, this is still unnecessary for us because you always pass the switch and rarely have your hands full. For ambiance while bathing, we use candles.

So, only the living kitchen, study, bedroom, etc. are smart for us. But since we don't really like using our ceiling lights anyway and prefer many warm, not too bright, partly passive light sources, we have no choice. Ceiling lights (except for the lamp above the kitchen counter and dining table) are only turned on when we really need it bright (crafting, DIY, etc.), and they don't have to be smart for that. We then created scenes like dining, game night, cooking, cinema, good night, which vary the brightness of different lamps, play music, lock the front door, etc. A switch is therefore unnecessary anyway, because in our experience with smart lamps you rather change the entire ambiance than just simple on/off.
