And if a presence detector in the "stairwell" dies at night, you might fall down the stairs in case of doubt, because there is no switch... I wouldn’t do something like that completely without a switch/button for the really important light sources. In commercial spaces, that would probably not even be legal, without any manual fallback level.

But isn’t that exactly what the KNX enthusiasts always preach here? That a real smart home gets along without any switches and buttons for lights, blinds, etc.? Because everything runs via sensors. Only then does it become really interesting price-wise, because you save the conventional fallback level.

I have almost no switches. Besides, there is also the [Bedienoberfläche] on mobile devices.

As I already said, you can do such technical gadgets very well in your own apartment, but in a holiday apartment? Every guest has different habits that the smart home does not know. Who wants to bother with strange smart home installations on vacation? Switches are a must. Beyond that, gadgets with colors, scenes, etc. can certainly be done additionally via a panel. That's also pretty cool.

But if I want to go to the bathroom at night without turning on the light, should I first fumble around in the smart home app, or how does the intelligent smart home know something like that?

Well, switches are a must if you have rooms with one entrance and exit, but if you only have one big room, switches don't make much sense, rather controlling areas from a central point, and that's just how it is with us ;)

Besides, I think you have to keep up with the times, the guestbook with access data to the apartment is now only sent by message anyway, so why not include a link to the operation of the electrical system there as well?

It's quite smart and up to date ;)
