Which heating system is suitable for our Kfw 70 house without a basement?

Hello,

we have been thinking for a while about which heating system to choose. The house will be a Kfw 70 house. We have no basement but a utility room.

Oil, gas, pellets, or geothermal energy / heat pump?

What a difficult question. Who has experience in this area?

The house will be about 140m² in size.

It is also planned to install a solar system on the roof. The geothermal package alone costs almost 15,000€. Do you need an additional insulation package for almost 4,000€?

Thank you very much for your experiences.

Hello,
Which heat generator should be chosen depends on the specific conditions. Helpful is the advice from an independent building services planner.
Solar thermal systems are rarely worthwhile for a single-family house, photovoltaic systems more so.
The source of a heat pump does not necessarily have to be geothermal energy. When it comes to packages, one should always check the content first (have it checked) ;) It depends on what you are allowed to understand by that. Additional insulation can be helpful; its value can be seen from the reduction of energy consumption in the consumption forecast (before-and-after). But be careful: this is often sugar-coated.

best regards

What do you mean by having the content checked? What are the specific framework conditions that should be helpful for the decision?

A layperson is hardly likely to be able to assess the actual value of a "package." For example: climate location, energetic building status (used components (geometry, material), user behavior (room temperatures, hot water demand)) => consumption forecast Sometimes the builder is promised a Kfw EH 70 or better on paper. In reality, however, they only receive the energy saving ordinance standard or sometimes even worse!

Best regards

I think the outdated oven heat should be revived. I'm currently staying in a nice apartment on the weekends to work. The only "disadvantage" is that I have to heat with wood and yes, even in summer, because there are drafts everywhere. Somehow, I realized once again what a cozy heating method this is. And economical!

Hello, Torben! You are absolutely right - and it was nicest in the Middle Ages :D!

You are probably at the borderline age-wise. Old enough for nostalgic fantasies and too young to have experienced it yourself :p.

So, as a child I had the brief pleasure of living with an oil stove (for the whole apartment), a zinc tub, cold water from all the taps, etc. - no thanks.

Today we have, among other things, a wood stove for decorative purposes; conversion and reconnection currently cost 1,000 euros again - economical is something else.

But to get back to the original question: If you have to finance the technical refinements, almost everything is regulated by price and the Energy Saving Ordinance.

So: gas and solar for hot water. Everything else could pay off eventually - but maybe only for the next owner.

Regards, TomTom.
