We need to order our front door now in Kw21.

We want to have the Winkhaus blueMatic EAV3 with A-Open installed and only have a preparation for the ekey done.

What do we need to tell the electrician about how to connect the electric door lock?

Should he pull the cable with which he connects the door lock all the way to the distribution cabinet and pull the cable from the ekey in the facade all the way to the distribution cabinet?

Did I understand that correctly?

We have decided against fingerprint, I hardly know any customers who are truly satisfied with it.

We have code and NFC and that works perfectly

At Ekey there are no problems. I know at least 20 objects where there are no problems. RFID still works anyway. Code is less secure than a key… You really have to differentiate with fingerprint systems.

What has changed with you in the meantime? Ekey sline or xline is still not available or supposedly in Q1 2023. We are currently facing a similar issue and are wavering between the "old" Ekey system with line reader, the new dLine in the door handle/front door, or waiting and then installing the sLine in the Gira TX44 or 106 doorbell system. I find it really difficult right now, our house should be ready to move in around April/May 2023. On the one hand, I would prefer the new reader where just placing the finger is enough, on the other hand, the setup via app is of course a total disadvantage, should Ekey go bankrupt etc. But then, in the case of a defective control device, you also won’t get a replacement and the cable variant also loses its supposed advantage. Regarding security, of course, an offline system is safer, but given our location and situation, I worry less about that.

For all interested parties, the new Ekey system is available from January, however the sLine is only available from Gira for the system 106 - that will probably be the one we use as well.

I would be happy if the ekey xline (which we want to install) is available from January

Do you have any info about the price?
