I didn’t ask what IS meant (according to norm 0815 for what is to be understood under a term?), but what THE OP MEANS when he doesn’t plan "these collectors."

I just had to google that there is a differentiating usage of language that calls the collector modules either collectors or modules depending on design and purpose. I know that "in common usage" both types are called "collectors." And what they have in common is "blue and architecturally alien bodies on the roof" – THAT’s what prompted my question to the OP. It wasn’t occupational therapy for fellow discussants.

Alright then, learned something new again. One already knows that from the kneewall and dwarf wall, or from the dormer and the cross-gable (and by the way also from the pantry and the pantry – once in the classical and once in the more modern interpretation).

Important (to avoid talking past each other) is that one exchanges what one understands by it – not whether somewhere it says who uses the term more correctly.

He means the solar thermal collectors commonly used with gas heating as opposed to photovoltaics for electricity generation. Everyone can understand that without redirecting the topic into wordplay.

@Ant11 and you complain when people colloquially say "Drempel"? Wow, you seem to have your own rules

No. I point out the difference (and its potential for misunderstanding) and explain it. When writing, the dialect doesn't come through, because the filter for "north-south differences" in naming habits doesn't activate. There are no Duden points in Flensburg for that.
