That is the "atypical" point in your story: the majority of questioners who want to weigh two wall constructions against each other come from the other situation – namely: the provider is fixed, and they can only be red-white or white-red checked.

Nice to read that it is different here.

That also sounds good. Then, as said, take from the two variants of your closer choice the one the planners and executors have more experience with.

Then I'll say: that’s it for me on this point – now I’m looking forward to when and what you tell us here about the house to be built with it. You asked about a design program a few months ago after all.

Yes, funny that you still remember my inquiry. I finally worked with Sweet Home 3d, that was sufficient. Indeed, some developers were very surprised about the thoughts etc. we had already made, and I also got the impression that they find it easier to sell their houses to many customers because those customers just don't care about anything... In the end, it became a pretty normal family house for us, only the knee wall is raised a bit. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to build something noticeably different, like a Tuscany villa we initially wanted, because we have to orient ourselves to the surrounding buildings. And those consist of family houses (gable roof) and bungalows. Our concept is a bit more future-oriented though – in other words, we forego gas and use an air-to-water heat pump. Plus, of course, controlled residential ventilation with heat recovery. Only photovoltaic panels will go on the roof, none of those collectors...

Nope, just look at the post history, you know?
I don’t have that memorized off the top of my head.

I guess you mean "knee wall." In some regions the terms blur, and people call both "Drempel." Actually, the knee wall (raising the eaves-side purlins) is what you use to avoid the Drempel (the interior masonry).

In a few years you’ll be glad about that. Platform shoes and bell-bottoms didn’t stay in fashion forever; the houses with tiered skirts (and those with the carmine-red painted projections) will meet a similar fate. Glass blocks were hip once. Or 45° chamfered corners in floor plans.

I’d like you to explain in more detail exactly how you distinguish that.

One produces electricity, the other hot water (Photovoltaik vs. Solarthermie)

I am aware that you can either convert solar energy into electricity or heat it - however, the OP was talking about "these collectors." They already existed when people still heated with gas; and what they fed into the power grid was certainly not hot water.

You might optimize the collectors for each purpose - but deciding on the roof what you want to do with solar energy, I would not. Energy preserves itself - the longer you store it universally, the more practical it is.
