How old are the children? If they still have to be born, you will spend the next few years running up and down the stairs day and night if they are supposed to go into the [DG]...

We have a children's floor (3 children's rooms, main bathroom) and in the attic the master bedroom + office + shower bathroom. I go to the bedroom relatively rarely during the day, but to the children's rooms more often. The distances are shorter there. For us, it wouldn't have been possible in terms of space otherwise.

Hello,

I would also depend on how old the two children are.

If they are old enough that you no longer have to check on them every night (possibly multiple times), I would also put the children's rooms on the 1st floor and the parents' area under the roof.

Especially in the teenage / young adult age, I would find it more practical if a boyfriend or girlfriend doesn't always have to "sneak past" the parents' bedroom :D. But in my opinion, the parents' privacy is also better maintained this way.

Regards,

Dirk

But a dad of a daughter can see that quite differently ;)

: Absolutely.

I'm not really talking here about girls or boys aged 14 or 15. I wouldn't be that enthusiastic about that either... o_O

But if the "kids" are (legally speaking ;)) adults - then, as I think today, I definitely prefer to at least know where and (within limits) with whom they hang out...

Dreamer; what might interest you definitely _does not_ happen under your eyes :D

Rhenish greetings from a mother of two who has long since left such topics behind her ;)
