In the hallway, better to distribute four built-in spotlights.
Tell me, don’t you have an electrician? He sat down with my wife and planned all outlets, light switches, sockets. He does that 1000 times in his life. Karsten

That's currently our problem, we still don't know how we want to furnish the house. Otherwise, I would have submitted it.

That has also been done in the other rooms, only in the living/dining area we are pretty undecided.

Well, a pendant lamp over the dining table, in a pinch a rope swing will do: that's the price you pay if you don't sit down and do your homework. Hallway: one in the middle, nice for a double spotlight. Living room: also one in the middle, who knows when it will ever be turned on. Two switchable sockets by the sofa or a wall outlet there for a reading lamp.

One could also place three in a row (horizontal) in the middle of living and dining, and one towards the hallway.

I’m missing your own idea. It’s always nice when you think for yourself. Then you realize where you’ve been careless [emoji6]

Draw a dividing line and diagonal in every (even imagined) room: then you’ll see for yourself where what needs to go.

In the living and dining area we have two outlets - Above the coffee table in the couch-TV corner - Above the dining table in the dining area We also have a floor uplighter by the sofa (which we have owned for many years). It also turned out that the flat unit/TV cabinet is now also illuminated -- for that it’s best to plan a switched socket. (We have plenty of sockets anyway!) In your hallway, I would plan two outlets. - In the lower part of the plan (entrance) - In the upper part of the plan in front of the stairs for stair illumination. We are not really spot light people and have quite normal outlets. In the corridors and in the utility room, bathroom etc. we mostly installed flat ceiling-mounted lights (LED). You can find those in large numbers, from cheap to expensive, in the corresponding departments of furniture stores and hardware stores.

I believe no matter how much you plan, the ceiling outlets never feel like they fit 100%. In our house, quite a few are misplaced because, for example, we later redesigned the kitchen-dining area and rotated the patio door. And in all the friends’ houses who were building, they often miss the mark as well. Often you arrange things differently than planned initially.

If the ceiling is plastered, you can still move something later with a track conduit. I would recommend preparing additional outlets in the corners of large rooms besides the central light outlets (they’re great for indirect lighting). If you don’t need them, just put a cover on them; if you do, you’ll be glad you prepared them. As suggested, switchable sockets are also very practical!
