I ordered online from Baumschule Horstmann and dug them up at my parents-in-law's place. Let's see how they survive the winter.

A new nursery with [Baumschule] is supposed to open here in spring. I'm not happy with the one we have.

I was in one in Scotland, if I had one around the corner I would be broke. Great selection and advice.

I did the same last week, not at native-plants but at Gaißmayer. I’m currently waiting for the delivery. I’m also very curious how it will go but the reviews in another forum were very good.

In case anyone is interested, here is a small experience report about the Gaißmayer delivery: A box with 23 perennials was delivered yesterday. According to information from Gaißmayer, packaging took place on Friday, delivery to my packing station on Saturday. Everything was very well packed, the plants look good for this time of year. The packaging was excellent, with very little plastic (so that the outer box cannot get soggy) and filled with straw for protection! I am very impressed! It was a test balloon to see if something like this could even work, but so far it has been great! In addition - as a new customer - delivery to the packing station on invoice. So everything very uncomplicated and without complaints! Top Now the little plants just have to do well next spring!

Cool... it worked well for me too.
Arrived Thursday, I planted it yesterday. The roots were great, better than some stuff from the garden center.
It came in a box padded with heavenly scented hay, if I need something special again, I will definitely order from there again.

Depending on how far away you live from the Dutch border, the trip can be worth it. I drove to Arcen with a rented van and it was mostly more than 50% cheaper there than in the local garden centers.

I also once ordered a hedge and several bushes/trees from Baumschule Horstmann and am absolutely satisfied.

I also once ordered from Gärtner Pötschke, but found the quality rather average.

Otherwise, there is also Gartencenter Pötschke in the greater Dortmund area (which has nothing to do with the mail order company), which has relatively good quality at reasonable prices, and Augsburg (which I find rather expensive).
