Bux "hardly works" for us anymore. I could have imagined it, but pest infestation around us is increasing.
In the end, I got almost everything from the nursery. For evergreen plants, for example, Dehner (which in my opinion offers better quality than OBI and others) was actually cheaper. From there I now also have columnar mountain holly and a golden privet. Let's see how the latter compares to the nursery golden privet.
Currently blooming shrubs were often larger from the nursery than from the garden center at a similar price.
Next year, in spring, it will start with perennials, roses, and the like. For those, I will probably go to the garden center because of the significantly lower price. At that point, I don’t mind if the plants are smaller/slower growing...
