It is purely about the practical aspect that you can leave window decorations or plants or kitchen herbs on the sill when you ventilate. And I ventilate often and sometimes for longer periods. Visually, I also find it appealing, especially with larger windows. In the bathroom, we also had the lower part made with frosted glass as privacy protection.

That’s smart. Thank you. My husband and I are building for the first time and are looking for smart ideas.

Same here... we also find these grids in front of the windows in the upper floor more than ugly. So 1/3 came fixed glazed.

I plan to secure it with glass fittings. This keeps our previous favorite cost-neutral. However, it might collide with my desire for shutters and of course involves more plastering work.

Also fixed glazed at the bottom, because both the grids and the parapets made of glass simply do not look nice to us.

We have about 30cm base with windowsill, then 50cm fixed glass and then the area to open. It’s really great, children like to sit on it and look outside, you can put things on it, a lot of light in the rooms and it also looks good from the outside.
