Well, without reason… it depends on where you draw the line, of course we won’t end up on the street if we don’t find anything now and generally we are not in such a hurry that we forget everything else (otherwise I wouldn’t be asking these questions here), but when it comes to my wife’s well-being, then it has to be considered after all.

I could have given an estimate, I already said that I “feared” these numbers but the thread was actually supposed to be primarily about what we can/should “afford” with the mentioned data. Regardless of the property. Because whether I want a villa or a condominium, the amount I can spend remains the same. I have already partly gotten an answer for that "from 1/3 of net income it becomes unpleasant". Maybe I should have made that clearer in the opening post.

Thank you very much for the answer, but you only build once (at least that’s my intention) and then everything should be right. I don’t want to have to save at every corner and edge just to be able to “afford” it. I think it’s really smarter if we save up some more equity so that we don’t have to cover such high installments. Sure we could probably manage it somehow, but my wife and I have both worked at a collection agency and have seen too much crap to not be a bit more cautious. Still, here’s the information on your questions:

1. NRW – around Duisburg, so Essen, Mülheim, Oberhausen, Dinslaken, possibly even up to Heiligenhaus.
3. Yes – but I would prefer to keep the family out of it.
4. Yes, they are. I have a builder friend whose company is currently in its startup phase and might do some things at “cost price” but not the whole house. Also, I could do the electrical work and the smart home stuff. Acceptance, of course, by an official electrician. Since I plan to use KNX, the wiring won’t be that complicated.
5. No. Most of it is classic savings book. Also ETFs.
6. Possible probably, wanted rather less.

It makes no sense to ask parents. I didn't want to be constantly reminded by the parents that they are co-financing my house.

What proportion of your customers ultimately really burdens the parents' household?

That's why banks still like to ask.

Friends, it is obvious that this should at least be addressed in the interest of the customers! Every person has a different attitude towards the whole matter, encounters different initial situations, should I define this just because some people are estranged from their parents, or the property might not even exist, or the parents do not have trust in the children, etc.? Can one imagine that it can be different and accept that if 1 out of 25 financings including replacement securities is presented, this must be made accessible to everyone because of that one?

I don’t understand at all why this should not be addressed and questioned; it doesn’t make any sense to me! That this even has to be discussed?

HelpHelp, your nonsense is unreadable! Meaningless? It’s not about you, it’s about the consumers and not every father would constantly hold this against the son. Maybe that is how it is with you, maybe you don’t know family cohesion, don’t want to experience it or define it differently, but there are other families where this is out of the question and if my two boys wouldn’t ask me or confide their plans so that I can approach them and offer my support, I would be disappointed!

Comprehensive financing advice includes considering all possibilities, all subsidies, all contingencies, and leeway for structuring. Otherwise, I don’t even start or should I think in advance about what to put on the table only to offer exactly the wrong thing?

For me, there is simply no discussion!

If you can't afford a house and involve the relatives, it is negligent for me. Period! I can hardly stand your sales talk anymore when it comes to the topic "sinnfrei" and "Quatsch".
