Well, we bought a wooden house door, I can’t exactly remember its price but I do know for sure that it wasn’t that expensive, I order everything made of wood, I also ordered wooden chairs that aren’t that expensive, but spending from 5000 to 7000 euros for a door is too much...

We are getting our front door from Köster. Aluminum, wing-overlapping with a 50cm side panel. I don't know the exact cost because it was included in the house price. We only have to pay an additional €800 for fingerprint and a longer handle.

Hi, I also have my own topic for this but haven't received a suitable answer either, we are looking for a suitable front door for our single-family house, KFW 55, Ytong stone. You all have such great prices here.

Our previous offers for an aluminum door with a side panel are sometimes much higher than yours.

Equipment:
- 1760 x 2260 size
- aluminum door
- anthracite RAL 7016 on both sides
- side panel with Satinato glass
- overlapping sash on both sides
- mechanical automatic locking
- hinge side security
- roller hinges
- RC 2 standard with P4A glazing
- security rosette with core pull protection
- opening limiter
- fingerprint scanner
- DIN direction L
- rod handle of 160cm

All with the same equipment, prices range from 6418 to 6870€.

So now the question is, with which door manufacturer will we be better off over the years?

Offer 1: 6870€ for a Köster aluminum door.
Offer 2: 6604€ for a Kompotherm door.
Offer 3: 6415€ also Kompotherm.
Offer 4: 6749€ for an Adoro (Schüco???) door.
Offer 5: still waiting, for a Hönig door.

All prices already minus possible discounts.
Differences that I can’t make sense of but noticed in the offers:
Offers 2 and 3 have an “automatic door threshold”. What is that?

Offer 1 has a construction depth of 88mm.
Offer 2 has a filling of 99mm.
Are there big differences?

Hope you can help me.
Thanks

since all the prices are "the same" i would take the door you like best. and if you don’t know what an automatic door threshold is, you probably haven’t been on site for the viewing. because there they will of course try to sell you such things persuasively.

an automatic door threshold automatically closes the gap between the floor and the door, since there is no usual threshold on the floor (i.e. barrier-free). for example, it is needed if you are a wheelchair user. if everyone can step over the threshold there is actually no reason to install such an automatic threshold.

but with such front door prices, an automatic 3/5-point locking system is included, right? the advantage is that for insurance purposes you don’t have to lock the front door when closing it from outside. you should get thorough advice from a door manufacturer of your choice. there are great gadgets
