What did you spend on your front door?

I feel the same way, it’s all a matter of taste! I really like your simple smooth door, especially with the glass panels next to it; glass in the door itself would just be distracting. However, I would prefer an inward overlapping door, it somehow looks more high-quality.

You can already see that these are expensive doors. But that doesn't automatically mean you want to have them.

I have to see where you can find something like that and compare them side by side. On the other hand, you don’t sit in the hallway staring at the front door. An investment in smoothly plastered ceilings in the living area, for example, seems more interesting to me.

How do you actually manage without roller shutters in the evening? Do you have opaque curtains for every room? Here in Hessen, I have never seen a house without roller shutters, but it doesn't seem uncommon in the North.

Best regards

There are pleated blinds in front of the windows. That’s all. We pull them up halfway. In the bedroom, all the way up. There is nothing opaque. We neither live crammed together nor on a street with many passersby. Almost nobody here has roller shutters. Karsten

Why does everything have to be opaque? Bedroom okay, you can buy a blind, shutters, ... whatever is available, for 20€. But I don't have to make, for example, the utility room or the kitchen opaque in the evening, do I? Nobody stays there and if they do, only briefly, and it doesn't matter if someone sees it sometimes. It's a residential area and not downtown on a main street - who would be looking there?

But you are just giving the reason why, here in NRW at sunset, some people pull down all their roller shutters. That I have never understood.
