Our application for the KfW grant Efficient House 55 has been approved, everything is okay so far. Now the construction of our single-family house has begun, the base plate and ground floor are in place. Now my question is whether the energy consultant needs to occasionally visit our construction site to check if everything is being implemented as prescribed for KfW 55, for example the insulation of the base plate. We called our energy consultant today, but he didn’t seem to be fully informed. After reading the post from another member here yesterday, who relied too much on their energy consultant and now has no funding, I am a bit worried. As absolute laypersons in construction, we cannot assess whether the correct prescribed materials are being used; we rely on our site manager. Thanks for your helpful tips. As mentioned, this is our first build and we don’t want to make any mistakes... it’s just not so easy at the moment, but probably everyone here knows that.
