Wow - and the window panes were produced by moonlight so you can see through better... Veka 2016 didn’t have that and Veka 2022 doesn’t either - at least with me. Otherwise, like with . The cutouts on the OP and are at the top of the window. At least they do not lead to drainage. I am not aware that one is supposed to boldly destroy a seal. Otherwise, you might as well do without it.

Pressure equalization openings in the outer seal primarily ensure that water can drain better in the wet zone during strong wind pressure with heavy rain. A nice side effect is that condensate in the outer rebate (wet zone) either does not form or forms less frequently and can dry out better. This has nothing to do with fogging of window panes!

My assumption: If water forms in the first sealing layer (where the gap in the seal is) (condensate or from driving rain) then it could possibly happen that this water cannot drain properly through the outlet due to a lack of pressure equalization.

The funny thing is, even with the old windows that I replaced with the new ones, I could find gaps of this kind in the outer seal. And they only had two seals and were from the 90s.

Veka and other system providers have different solutions for pressure equalization. There are seals that are missing or there are drillings and/or slots that are installed at the top or in the horizontal frame. In windows with low requirements for driving rain tightness, some window manufacturers forego such pressure equalization openings. This is all not uniformly regulated. All of this has nothing to do with rebate ventilators!
