I was on site as promised and took a look at the garbage bin boxes.
First about durability: The bins are designed to last 10 years PLUS. They even guarantee that.
Only materials (stainless steel) are used that are extremely weather-resistant. Mr. Penkalla showed me what was considered during the "development" (weak points are connecting elements, e.g. hinges or screws) and how they solved it. The man really knew his stuff in that regard.
There are dents/dings only if you drive into them with the car. The stainless steel is quite thick.
I even decided on a box with wood (also for my wife's sake):

The wood is specially treated, pressed, and sealed. I also saw photos of a 7-year-old garbage bin box with wood and it looked very good. The wood was only a bit lighter than at the beginning (sun). The rest looked like day one.
