It never even remotely occurred to us during the sampling that we would ever have to make such a decision

After I wrote my answer, I almost suspected that it wasn’t meant only because of the kids :) I’ll look it up..

We have now also decided, toilets 43cm ceramic top edge.

Guest WC washbasin at 85cm and bathroom at 90cm.

Many thanks to everyone!!

We didn't really decide - the plumber asked us just before the installation... we had no idea that the height was very important. But he made a good decision ;)

Such details are among the factors that determine how "good" a sampling is.
On the one hand, we were amazed; on the other hand, very satisfied that all details were discussed step by step and clearly documented on around 60 pages. Among other things, the height of the toilets and washbasins, which could also be evaluated/estimated in the showroom.

I'm happy for you!

Our general contractor has several subcontractors, including one for plumbing. "Selected" meant for us driving to the wholesaler, picking out sanitary objects, and that was it. We held the construction meeting for the objects with the plumbing foreman on site, which I also found very good in hindsight, since it was right at the place where the action was!

When I bought a newly built townhouse from the developer, I was not asked about the heights either, so honestly, I wouldn't even have thought of it now, I have to admit...

He installed what he thought was good without asking. Well, now we are replacing a toilet with a model 6cm higher and had the drywall removed and set higher at the bottom. I think that for all the above-mentioned dimensions there are pros and cons that I hadn’t considered before. But since both ceramic tops were suddenly at 40cm, 9cm lower than before, we noticed a considerable difference that seemed too low for us. If we had been used to 40cm, we probably wouldn’t have noticed. Annoying and unnecessary that such details weren’t asked about and you don’t think of them yourself.

Ceramic height 38cm. I am 1.80m tall. It could be even lower - without "standing on tiptoes," this height doesn't work properly either.

Especially at an older age, one should not go higher because one is no longer so flexible and it becomes difficult to place the feet on a stool. Those who are afraid of standing up should rather consider a proper grab handle. Unfortunately, the sanitary field is not present in proctology lectures.
