So for us, it goes into the bathroom on the upper floor, drying also takes place in the dressing room. I don't want it there, we have an extremely quiet machine that you currently can't hear in the bedroom with the bathroom door closed, (normal sized 4-room apartment, so not that far away) but I also don't want it right next to it.

We decided against it at the time.

For a short period, we also considered planning the whole thing in the dressing room (11 sqm). But the disadvantages outweigh the advantages, such as additional water pipes, wastewater pipes, tiles, sink, space requirements, etc. We already have all of this in the WC anyway, and the additional costs for the branching are marginal.

We have our washing machine and dryer upstairs in the WC (8 sqm). The room is basically divided into two parts – the left side has a sink and toilet, the right side is hidden by a sliding door and contains the washing machine, dryer, laundry basket, and shelving system. We are currently equipping the room with the appliances!

Our dressing room now has a nice parquet floor with a wardrobe system, and the 11 sqm is just enough for us (better for my wife).

So I didn’t want the washing machine and dryer to be in the dressing room. The fresh laundry smell alone - not unpleasant but at night it would bother me. Do you dry everything exclusively in the dryer? Isn’t there anything that needs to be hung up or dried in some other way (wool items, shoes, children’s clothing with prints, etc.)? For me, doing laundry on the upper floor generally wouldn’t work. I also dry a lot of things outdoors - especially towels.

Especially the towels become much fluffier in the dryer than outside. That is what is always dried in the dryer until the end with us.

We have a washing machine and the dryer on the upper floor in a separate room. The room is tiled and also specially sealed as a wet room. This only helps to a limited extent, but thanks to a small threshold, at least the first amount of water would be caught in case of a leaking faucet.

Hahaha. People are so different. That is exactly why they don’t go into the dryer for me. The rougher the better.

This is a crazy idea! The washing machine (and the dryer) can be placed a) in a separate room (laundry room), b) in a utility/house connection room, c) in a bathroom, d) in a kitchen. IMHO a) or b) are to be preferred, c) and d) are more or less equivalent, with slight advantages for c). Everything else, especially placement in non-moist rooms, even designated living spaces, is out of the question.
