Vinyl or tiles in the hallway?

Please correct me, but I don't see any disadvantage in tiles that vinyl wouldn't have as well. According to your text, there is a clear preference for tiles. Higher costs due to installation alone could be an argument. But all the others also tend to report more in favor of tiles. And like the colleague above, we will also get wood-look tiles, which look like laminate. After several consultations, we also decided against vinyl and in favor of tiles. Vinyl might only feel a bit more comfortable when walking barefoot (?).

For us, the advantages and disadvantages of tiles - vinyl have balanced out. The decision was made for the last mentioned reason (feels more comfortable). Especially when the underfloor heating is not running in summer, this floor feels warm compared to the tiles...

Even though, especially in the hot summer (when the heating is not running), one enjoys when the cold tiled floor gives some cooling. Not a few people lie down on the tiles for a few minutes (also with circulatory problems) to get a cool head again.

The new houses themselves are already very warm, so this "cold source" is useful.

I would also consider it more comfortable to be able to walk barefoot sometimes, while you can easily catch something on tiles (at least I do).

Nevertheless, I stick to tiles in the kitchen/living room because they don’t mind (a lot of) water (even in the long term), definitely no losses with the heating (it could be more than "1%" for example with not so great installation and air gaps that you can't see afterward) and I consider them to be more durable/robust.

Maybe we will try vinyl in the office or bedroom. Nothing lasts forever.
