Hello. Both options, both glued vinyl flooring and floating vinyl flooring (click vinyl), can be recommended for new buildings. Even if a small air layer forms with click vinyl, the heat can still be transferred very well into the vinyl flooring. There is only a delay in the energy transfer (of a few minutes). In the glued version, there is no air layer between the screed and the vinyl flooring, and the heat is transferred immediately to the vinyl. You can install both options, as they have the same heat transfer.

Delay means loss. A thermos flask only delays as well. If you want to heat with it, you need significantly higher temperatures and thus you lose efficiency.

No, it doesn’t. Where is the energy supposed to be lost to? Energy doesn’t just disappear. Even I know that with basic physics.

A modern underfloor heating system runs at such low temperatures that, as long as you don’t keep fiddling with the thermostat every hour, it’s not relevant.

If I insulate 12 cm above the pipes and 12 cm below, half of the heat goes into the ground (very exaggerated...) - so much for the question of where the heat is supposed to go. But I would also assume that both work and the loss is rather low.

Think about the thermos flask. The energy definitely doesn’t disappear, but it also doesn’t end up in your apartment, or only far too slowly. To reach the same room temperature, you therefore have to choose a higher temperature in the supply line.

However, in practice the difference between sticking and not sticking probably isn’t that big.

Thank you!
"Floating installation" and "click" mean the same thing, right? I somehow always associate the first one with moisture...
