Sorry for OT.. But I can't follow the UP/surface-mounted discussion. What disadvantage do UP fittings have? I couldn't imagine at all connecting the showerhead in the shower with a visible pipe for our new house. Surface-mounted fittings are, for me, to this day in the same category as surface-mounted electrical installation.
