With 50 sqm of tiles, you can tile over 33 meters of wall at an average of 1.50 (hardly any BU offers more). That’s enough for a 6 sqm, a 9 sqm, and a 12 sqm bathroom.

I mean you no harm, but one should consider everything somewhat neutrally and logically. Just because I leave something out somewhere doesn’t mean that what remains is treated the same as the other. A BU that doesn’t want to go bankrupt immediately has its contracts worked out with specialists.
Look for the gap or the friendly conversation.

That’s all I can advise you.

Our BU is simply different from the big BUs... after all, it is a Swabian medium-sized company :-) At Talbau-Haus there are no height restrictions in the construction service description or anything like that. It is simply agreed upon to have 50m² of wall tiles.

The whole thing is now being discussed internally at Talbau, Talbau basically agrees with me, only the external company commissioned by Talbau for the tiling work sees it differently. I will report on how it develops further.

Yes, but only the external company does not have a contract with you. Rather, you have one with the BU. It would be like a baker saying: Because of the price increase for the bread rolls, I can't do anything, please call my flour supplier and negotiate the price...

exactly like that.

this is a problem between talbau and its subcontractors. these schemes of "making real money" (subs earn nothing through the companies, through these additional businesses the rates are extorted 5 to 10 times over) will occur more often. the more the construction contractor pushes his subs, the more of these tricks will be aimed at you. work against the pressure right from the start, so that it doesn’t escalate.

Already done. We completely took out the tiling trade and outsourced it. The result: 3000.- euros saved, nicer tiles, higher quality workmanship (everything with brushed stainless steel Schlüter) and a local company that is directly accessible in case of emergency.

that sounds reasonable, even though now there is an external trade involved, which somehow has to be integrated into the construction sequence. tile laying is anyway an ungrateful job in terms of scheduling, because it has to wait for the screed to dry and one never really knows when it will be ready.

clarification: who takes the screed sample to allow the tiles to be laid?! it is often done by the tiler, but you just removed him. however, the construction contractor still wants proof :)

furthermore, it is strange that you get more expensive materials at a cheaper laying price through self-contracting by removing a trade than a construction company that pushes its subs on price. it can basically only be someone from the family or without an invoice :) be careful that in the end it really looks like you imagine it.
