That has nothing to do with a favorable market situation; you probably have approached the wrong providers

There are still many architects who create a free initial draft; admittedly as a line drawing (the least as a real draft), but it is enough to get a feeling for whether commissioning is worthwhile.

With us, almost all providers offered a free initial draft. Those who only wanted money upfront were quickly removed from our list. Of course, you don’t get a draft worked out in every last detail, but it is sufficient for initial guidance.
