Terrace roofing with glass or plastic sheets?

Hello everyone,

I am currently building my terrace. It will be a solid terrace, similar to an open conservatory. The size of the terrace is 5 x 5.50 m, with a rustic stone wall being built around the terrace (or has already been built). On this stone wall (height 60 cm), a wooden framework will be placed, with the weather-facing side then being bricked up with Ytong and two windows installed. The other two sides (north and east) remain open. The south side is the house wall with a terrace door. This means my terrace faces north, which I have found very pleasant so far. My only concern is the weather and the possible moss growth on the structure and roofing that comes with it. These reasons make it difficult for me to decide on the roof covering. There are many alternatives (clay shingles, bitumen shingles, roof tiles similar to the house, or a roofing that is somewhat more translucent, glass or plastic panels.....).
Who has experienced a similar situation and can give me tips?

I would appreciate any suggestions.

For my parents' house, we used plastic panels... they are cleaned twice a year. We can clean them well from the second floor with an extension... It's tiring, but I find the panels nicer because light simply comes through....

Also consider the rooms behind. The less light-transmitting the roof, the darker the room behind the terrace will be.

We had been considering a roof with aluminum-glass and corresponding shading options. However, due to the price, we have postponed the matter for now and will test the terrace without a roof for at least one year.
