Hello,
I have received the order forms from Telekom for a fiber optic connection for our future house.

I am a bit surprised that under point 3 it is already checked that I will lay a conduit on the property and create the cable trench for it.
Telekom initially sent us an application form for a copper connection, where the work was done by Telekom.
Was it the same for you, or is Telekom just trying to pass the tasks on to me? If the conduit and the trench are provided by me, then there isn't much work left for Telekom.

Thank you

No, that is not much work either. But your civil engineer can probably do it cheaper since he has to refill anyway. Telekom might have to excavate again and you would pay for that.

The best thing is if Telekom can come after the basement construction, before the refilling, then it can be done most cheaply in one go.

Normally, the cable goes through the multi-duct entry, where water and electricity pass through

The earthworks for electricity, water, and gas are being carried out by the municipal utilities. Doing it myself would only save 150 euros because of the 3-meter distance, and it's not worth the trouble.

I thought the 600 euro flat rate at Telekom included earthworks, so I had mentally already checked off the earthworks issue.

We are building without a basement.

Then, if the municipal utilities lay gas and water into the house, I have to make sure that an empty conduit for fiber optics is included?

I don’t mean own work. For us, it was like this: the earthworks were done by the civil engineers. The pit was open anyway, and before backfilling, our power network operator and the waterworks came. They installed the multiservice and laid the lines. The civil engineer then backfilled. This is the cheapest solution.

Since you are building without a basement, I don’t know if there will still be enough trench open. Earthworks by the utility companies are always quite expensive because they hire a construction contractor who then arrives with an excavator.

The cheapest variant of the Telekom connection costs €599, with the earthworks added on top. There was also a price list somewhere on their site, search for the builder hotline. But if you then order the connection through the same hotline, you get a decent discount; for us, it was €400. Until the end of the year, we have no Telekom costs *g*.
