Hello everyone,

is it possible to retrofit electrical components into ETICS?

Specifically, I would like to install a video intercom system as an embedded version in our insulation. The power cable etc. is already installed and protrudes from the insulation.

I found universal device carriers from Kaiser, but I wonder how to cleanly cut out entire blocks from the insulation.

Regards

With a knife, it works without any problems! But do not cut too deep.

how do you get the square block out cleanly with a knife?

as far as I have read at Kaiser, the device carrier would actually be screwed onto the wall below the [WDVS]. Then you would have to "cut" away the [WDVS] up to the wall.

Although we have taken all connections etc. into account when building our house, it does not bother us that I would have to install the video intercom system "surface-mounted." A year ago during the house planning, unfortunately I did not think about surface-mounted or flush-mounted :-( Only that the appropriate cables have to go there.

How deep is the component? How thick is the [WDVS]? How big and heavy is the component?

I believe it is 10cm EIFS - I would have to check the documents at home tonight. It is a Bien-Zenker KFW 55 wall.

The depth of the component is maybe 5cm. The GOLIATH video unit itself is 32mm deep, and there is also a flush-mounted box, although no exact measurements could be found on the site.

Hello Stockheim,

I am getting the same video door intercom system from Goliath. The flush-mounted box is 58 mm deep, about 12.5 cm wide and about 11 cm high. I did it like this: determined the height, held the flush-mounted box against the wall with the [WDVS], and marked the outlines. Then cut out about 6 cm with a cutter knife, repeatedly tested the depth of the cutout with the flush-mounted box in between. Then fixed it with foam for [WDVS], using a spirit level. Holds tight as a drum.

Regards
