Hello everyone,

a somewhat unusual question:
Is there anyone within about 100km of 46325 who has an LWZ 504 that one can take a look at?
We (me, my wife, and little son) are planning to install the system in our new build.
However, I am worried that it might go wrong and the whole place might hum, or that the space in the utility room might not be sufficient, etc.

It would be great if I could talk to someone who has installed such a system.

Regards

we are a bit too far away, but if there are any questions I might be able to answer them

I suspect every heat pump "hums" somehow, whether integrated or in split construction. We only hear it in absolute silence in the house when the heat pump is preparing hot water. We do not hear ventilation and heating, in principle. The system is located in the basement in the utility room and is no larger than a wardrobe. It is important to have proper sound decoupling on the floor and for the ventilation.

Hello,

unfortunately I am too far away. However, I can reassure you that the system itself is very quiet. We had a better soundproof door installed in our utility room and now we don’t hear anything from the heating. Incidentally, the photovoltaic inverter is louder than the heating.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me; and please don’t forget to apply for the funding for the LWZ 504. After all, that’s 2000€ you get for it.

Best regards

Especially in winter, the system is not quiet. You don’t hear it during heating operation, but you do when heating water, even through an 11cm KS wall and through a normal door. The surrounding walls should be somewhat thicker or the thing should go straight into the basement. But it sounds more dramatic than it is; it’s not really disturbing.
Very important for the subsidy: the application must be with BAFA before the signature is made by the GU / heating installer.

The space argument definitely needs to be considered. We had planned the utility room a bit differently, then SE changed the maintenance guidelines, and suddenly the system had to be moved to another wall which is a bit less favorable. The system is definitely not small, and the piping to the outside wall is really large (about 40cm diameter per channel).

The heating engineer advises me to get a split unit.
For me as a layperson, the advantages initially outweigh the disadvantages, and I think I will probably decide on the system.
I once downloaded the technical documentation for the system. We also had to move the space, but to a more favorable wall. It now basically stands in the corner of the house.
Did you install the grilles or connections for supply and exhaust air directly into the masonry, or were core drillings done there?
