Ok, for us it's only about the shell construction/roof. Windows probably won't come this year anymore. Measurements for the windows will be taken alongside the progress, so when the ground floor is finished, measurements for the ground floor, then when the upper floor is finished, measurements for the upper floor, but with about 4 to 6 weeks production time, it will definitely be January/February for us... how are you managing the windows? Regardless, good luck and have fun! After about 10 months of planning, I can hardly wait to see something in stone and concrete [emoji6]

The dimensions for the windows are already fixed with us. I assume that the bricklayers will also implement it in such a way that the windows fit and no further measurements need to be taken beforehand.

*smile* - the measurement does not mean determining the deviation between the first and last plan, but rather the deviation between target and actual. What lies in between are tolerances. ... ... it probably served to amuse all those readers who already have construction experience ;-) Laymen often misunderstand and think that the specifications regularly found in floor plans of so-and-so and a half centimeters refer to manufacturing accuracy. However, this is not the case. Such target measurements (like "88.5 cm = seven eighth-meters plus 1 cm joint" for an interior door) result from planning grids such as the eighth-meter of construction standard dimensions in solid construction. The reality, however, is that masons are not watchmakers and do not place the bricks with tweezers. A window of 263.5 cm width (target) can actually be 261 or 266 cm wide. You certainly do not want to compensate for such a difference with foam sealant extravaganzas. Therefore, the window manufacturer prefers to take measurements again once the mason is finished.

Yes, our contractor also told me that. Windows are only ordered once the openings are in place. We started two weeks ago.

In Middle Franconia, we are supposed to start next week as well. Our shell builder sees no problems getting the house sealed by Christmas. In the past, construction always began in autumn to let the shell dry out over the winter, which was supposed to prevent later cracking.
