Hm, we started construction in mid-March and had the screed in from mid-July. It could theoretically have gone faster if we had done less ourselves. Because of the personal contributions, we were glad about spring and summer: much longer daylight, no cold drafts while chasing slots for hours, luck with the weather (very dry) and therefore little mud brought into the house, no half-frozen hands when cleaning something at the outdoor construction water tap, exterior plaster no problem (requires 5 degrees), therefore relatively quick dismantling of the scaffolding...
It’s certainly possible with construction start in winter too, and no one can order sunshine or rain, but we are glad about spring. :-)
