@ Oelschlamm

All conversations with experts regarding the requirements of the Energy Saving Ordinance 2016 that I have had so far lead to the conclusion that gas and the upcoming Energy Saving Ordinance will no longer be so easy to implement. A higher insulation standard must be set, as well as controlled residential ventilation with heat recovery and other regenerative energy; solar for domestic hot water heating will probably not be enough. This means the monetary effort is so high that gas will no longer be profitable if a KFW efficiency house is to be built.

...... I know that. It also corresponds to my knowledge. Nevertheless, two different Town & Country licensees assure me independently that their houses would be approvable under the Energy Saving Ordinance 2016 (24cm Ytong, ventilation with heat recovery and 4sqm solar thermal). Again my question: What advantages should this claim by the general contractor bring if it does not correspond to the facts? Ok, he first "catches" the customer, but the whole thing will be exposed eventually, right?

Hi,

a) Did the people give you that in writing, or did they say it?
b) Is a controlled residential ventilation system + heat recovery with enthalpy exchanger being used? I believe such a system can do more.....

Best regards, Thorsten

Both offers are in writing, no construction contract yet, but in the form of a 6-page performance description. There is no mention of enthalpy anywhere, just standard heat exchangers based on the principle of reversible air flows. The entire controlled residential ventilation costs something under 1000....

I also reread this again this afternoon. New Energy Saving Ordinance 2014 and gas boiler.....

You get overwhelmed by studies etc. Something 100% binding - you don’t find that.

The tendency seems to be.
Gas boiler is allowed under the new Energy Saving Ordinance if you:
- Insulate even better
- Controlled residential ventilation + heat recovery
- Add solar domestic hot water support
- Probably also solar heating support
(from my point of view, for these points to make sense: vacuum flat tube collectors, not cheap, and underfloor heating is then almost a must-have)
- Possibly other renewable energy sources

In other words: everything is possible - it just “becomes expensive in reality”.

The newly coming primary energy factor of electricity of 1.8 is simply a killer argument in the calculation and makes the use of a heat pump more or less almost without alternative if you want to keep costs under control.

Some of these studies will only be published at the beginning of ’16. So I have my doubts......I think the gas boiler in KFW-subsidized new single-family house construction really only has a visibly limited remaining service life.

A controlled residential ventilation with heat recovery for under 1000 euros? Honestly - I can’t imagine that. Two fan motors as spare parts for my Pluggit would be more expensive. I can imagine a total price between 6-10 thousand euros.....

Hello,

I know a licensee around here; he was until recently the managing director of the subsidiary of a British mobile phone company. Knowledge about building houses is about the same as most laymen here.

Crystal ball mode on: Provided the details of the offer are incorporated into a legally binding contract for work, the "if/then" conditions will be found in the fine print. Crystal ball mode off.

Rhenish greetings
