Is it advisable to avoid this for cost reasons? I mean, solar heat is only for water - and I have read that one consumes about 1000 liters of water per year per person - is it worth it?
Subjective opinion: Solar for domestic hot water is only useful in special cases (pool or similar). Currently, at 5 degrees outside temperature, I need about 2 to 3 kWh for hot water (air-to-water heat pump) per day (so about 40 to 60 cents). In my opinion, that can never be recouped by solar thermal...
