If the design of the house corresponds to the writing style, all parties involved in the construction will be faced with great challenges.

What works well is architouch3d for the iPad, it is surely available for other devices as well. Saving is only possible there with costs. But you can play without that. It works surprisingly well.

Dear members,

I am bringing this thread up again because I am currently facing a similar challenge.
We have already spoken with various developers, gone through many details, but hardly anyone does a free floor plan design. We were mostly told that these are the exterior walls and their dimensions, within which we can design the floor plan however we want (the number of rooms should remain the same). So now we are trying to find out what house size our floor plan requirements are actually feasible for, without making everything small, uncomfortable but fitting.

For this, we would like a program that can be used without studying and supports us in the planning (not a CAD program). Above all, a visualization function would be extremely helpful for my wife.

We have already tested Sweet Home 3D, but it proves to be extremely user-unfriendly in handling, changing sizes, moving walls and the like.
Google SketchUp seemed too inaccurate to me in planning and representation.
Unfortunately, Revit is not available for MAC – which made testing impossible for me.

If anyone knows other programs, I would be grateful for suggestions. They do not have to be free either, I would be willing to spend a few well-invested euros on the fun.
Otherwise, I would simply be interested in how you made your plans? Hired architects? Pencil and paper?

Best regards Sascha

Architouch 3d can do almost everything you want including visualization, even creates pdf plans. With sqm details etc. I have now given it to my architect as an example.

I am extremely satisfied with HomeByMe for floor plan planning. It doesn't get any easier and the result also looks very good in the 3D view. I can only recommend it and it costs = 0€.
