Hello

we are currently planning our new semi-detached house

we have reached the topic of video doorbells and surveillance cameras

I have a few questions

Video doorbell:

which "smart" video doorbell can you recommend without monthly costs?

The video doorbell should be able to do the following:

When someone rings, there should be an acoustic signal in the house (like a regular doorbell) and a notification should appear on our phones

The video doorbell should also be seamlessly compatible with a smart door lock (e.g. Nuki) and the video doorbell should also work seamlessly with the surveillance cameras (all in one APP)

at what height from the floor should the video doorbell be installed?

Which "smart" surveillance cameras can you recommend should we take those from the same manufacturer as the doorbell?

Where should surveillance cameras be installed everywhere?

there will definitely be one at the garage to cover the area next to the house.

Then only the entrance area would be left do we need an additional surveillance camera at the entrance area if we already have a video doorbell?

I have already looked the big known ones like e.g. Ring (Amazon) and Nest (Google) all rely on a cloud solution with monthly subscription if you want to have everything

I have also seen Eufy (Anker) which works without cloud and monthly costs

What do you think of these brands or which ones would you recommend we take a look at?

Hello,

in our KNX system, we have AXIS M3115-LVE FlatFace 2.8mm cameras around the house under the roof, covering every corner of the house. These are linked to motion detectors and the exterior lighting of the house, so it turns on whenever someone approaches. The door communication is from Gira (module 106) integrated into the mailbox. It is installed at about 1.6 meters height. When the doorbell rings, it chimes on the iPad in the house and on the mobile phones, wherever you are, and the door can be opened remotely.

However, it is purely a budget question how much one wants to spend on this—there is no upper limit.

Cost in the year 2021 approximately €7,500 including VAT (without the associated burglar alarm system, roughly 3k).

2N IP VERSO

That depends entirely on what you want to see and are allowed to film.

For example, Axis devices.

Since there are many types of cameras and lenses, this cannot be generalized. Basically, anywhere you want to see something. For example, a hemispherical lens can cover an entire facade, or you need 2-3 dome cameras depending on the building structure, projections, etc.

Thank you for the quick responses

I forgot that we want to set up a wireless "Smarthome" later and wait for and implement the new Matter standard

Unfortunately, we do not have the necessary funds for KNX and the developer electrician does not want to install KNX either

Does the electrician have to install anything special for a video doorbell (special cables) or can the conventional doorbell simply be removed later and the video doorbell installed?

What connections do the cameras need? Is a power connection enough?

LAN/POE

The electrician should know that best. But I would lay LAN/POE + Fernmelde-Erdkabel A-2YF(L)2Y 4x2x0,8 (or as many cores as you need).

No, you can’t. The conventional doorbell runs on 12V, which is not sufficient for your "video doorbell." In that case, you should have at least a CAT cable installed, then you can operate your system later, for example via PoE.

Either power + Matter, or directly CAT/LAN.

Edit: Sorry, I had overlooked Mycraft’s post.
