It also looks nicer than the Switchbot, functionality is identical.

Especially the new one. Apparently very very quiet and 3x faster than the nuki 4 pro. Still definitely wired for new buildings.

We have a "Nuki box" hanging on the lock. I don’t find it nice, but we have gotten used to it. Meanwhile, there is a new development from Nuki, where there is no longer a box attached. Only a round stainless steel attachment on the key. That looks significantly more elegant. How that works technically? No idea. In the box of the last model are mainly the batteries or accumulators, and allegedly the new one is even more powerful than the old one. The Nuki does not work 100% reliably for me, but you can manage with it. I find it too annoying to get familiar with the software – and it often doesn’t work intuitively. Nevertheless, I would buy such a device again if it “were no longer there.” The greeting by the self-opening door is always a pleasure for me – especially when I’m carrying something in both hands.

We have also been using the Nuki 3 Pro including Fingerprintreader for over two years, it works perfectly in 99% of cases.

I would avoid a car unlock via Bluetooth. Someone only needs to steal your smartphone, and they can enter your house without any signs of break-in. The insurance will not pay in this case.

PIN, fingerprint, whatever. All fine. But never do anything where you just have to hold a device near the door lock and the door opens without any further authentication.

That would be like being able to use your credit card via NFC to utilize the full credit limit in one transaction. No, that is limited to 50 EUR and multiple transactions, then the bank wants to see the PIN. And there is a reason for that.

I have had a total of 3 Nuki devices in use for 2 years. So far, no problems at all. I do not find the devices on the door annoying at all. Auto Unlock is disabled for me. What was very important to me is the integration into Apple Homekit. Opening doors via Siri makes everything much easier.
