I didn't find Homee uninteresting either. How big is the community there, do you get help with questions? Why it wasn't an option for me, you are too limited in the Homeegrams, as far as I understood. There are only if/then rules. I use far more than that. Another point was that with iobroker I can use significantly more manufacturers and their products, and I wanted to use Xiaomi products because they are good and very affordable.

Regarding the community and support, I will take a look at it and then provide feedback. I am not familiar with Xiaomi at all yet, I will also take a look at it.

Search for Xiaomi Sensor or Aqara Sensor, they are both the same. I use window/door, water, and motion sensors.

Hello, I am facing a new build and have similar problems. I also want to integrate a smart home and do not have the time to deal with it sufficiently. My previous research only showed that I would like to have a KNX system and preferably wired. Furthermore, I had an eye on Homeway cabling ;-) I believe a combination of both is possible. As far as costs are concerned, I primarily did not want to spend more than €10,000. Before everyone starts crying: the pure cabling of the house would be enough for me for now. I would then want to integrate the end devices gradually. What is a realistic price for the cabling of shutters, light switches, etc.? How is it with Homeway in connection with KNX, do you benefit from it or would it be more sensible to work with empty conduits? Hope it's not too confusing ;-) Thanks in advance and best regards

Well, it depends on what exactly you want. Smarthome is for now just a term for glossy magazines. Everything can hide behind it.

KNX basically only exists wired. The radio solutions in KNX are exorbitantly expensive and are really only used when there is absolutely no possibility to lay a cable.

Depending on what, how, why and for what you want it, you can already realize KNX with 5000, but then it will really only be an isolated solution like e.g. only roller shutters or only lights and sockets.

With 10000 you can do a little more, but you don’t really get into the area where it starts to be fun.

Because KNX requires the necessary infrastructure, i.e. more cables, larger cabinets, etc. The control cabinet alone, fully wired and with a basic KNX peripheral (power supply + interface), can easily swallow 2-3 thousand.

For homeway I would not necessarily spend extra money now. Just lay satellite cable and CAT7 in every room and that’s it.

At Amazon, Homee is today’s deal of the day... if that is still relevant.
