Take a look at the system from Loxone, it actually makes sense, doesn't need an internet server, it works autonomously even without internet (if you want to forgo the weather service).

We built with Loxone and don't regret it, even though my girlfriend was skeptical.

Loxone has good marketing. Otherwise, there are not many reasons to recommend it. KNX is no longer supported either (it was never certified). Better to go with KNX right away with many manufacturers... Also doesn't need the internet. Not even for the weather.

Which is not entirely true.

I didn't want KNX because you are too tied to the manufacturers' specifications, and a control panel with many buttons was out of the question for me.

I know that many praise KNX, but unfortunately, few know the alternatives.

Damn, I actually didn’t want to write anything more on this topic...

What do you mean by that? Sounds like half-knowledge or no overview of what is actually possible with KNX or what the KNX market with its many thousands of devices offers.

The opposite is more the case. Hardly anyone spends the money without having looked into it. And most end up with KNX precisely because they know the alternatives.

Ok, well whatever, KNX was not an option for me. And I have not regretted the decision. And especially when retrofitting, Air technology is simply one of the best solutions. And many manufacturers nowadays cooperate with Loxone. Or at least support it.

It's good if you are satisfied with your solution. It was more about the fact that some statements were simply not correct. described it. You probably haven't really delved deeply into KNX.

Loxone did not invent radio solutions.
You can also do that with KNX and have many manufacturers to choose from... Even before Loxone had that.
I have a good friend who completely renovated his parents' house. He also opted for Loxone. He also has the spots etc. from Loxone. Therefore, the "programming" was quite simple. For the price, he could have also installed KNX. He is also satisfied.
There are also many prefabricated modules for KNX. Much more than for Loxone...
