Why does one read so little about Homematic here in the forum? For me, this is the very first point of contact, followed by KNX

For the same reason why Loxone is more or less uninteresting. Costs, possibilities, manufacturer dependency.

and why is that?

Costs: Is Homematic really more expensive than KNX? In my old invoices (haven't recalculated for a long time) KNX including wiring, etc. was always more expensive.
Manufacturer lock-in: Is that still an argument in smart home times of FHEM, Openhab, ioBroker at all?
Possibilities: What is meant by that? What can't I realize with Homematic?

You always have to compare apples to apples. Of course. Integration and interoperability.

What is that supposed to mean? I am comparing the possibility to automatically control my lights, automatically control my shutters, send emails on events, etc. For the end user, these are both apples. Whether one is a standard and the other a product line is completely irrelevant to the end user.

Says the registered association for KNX standards of the Northern Hemisphere?

Does not answer my question and sounds very much like a dodging answer.

Exactly. That’s why you should compare apples to apples. Then you see that KNX is suddenly cheaper than it is propagated. The question is answered with that, and if you do not understand the answer, then you probably have some catching up to do.
